Italian Police help thieves escape!

I caught the thieving b's, now what?

The Story
Yes it's true, I'm currently in Italy at Lake Garda, still enjoying my grand European tour (photos on my facebook page at; http://profile.to/dynamicmike)

My Campervan was broken into on Saturday around 3.30pm and they stole my big laptop and good camera.

They left my GPS (and the chargers for the stolen items), so i located the nearest Police station and i jogged there, leaving my dog in the camper incase the thieves returned (they've also broken the door lock).

On returning to the special camper-parking area, i was informed that there were three young guys (all aged 30 it turns out, but they looked younger) in the camper parked in the corner and they had just gone for a walk.

Sure enough, when i investigated, there was MY camera strap sitting on their front seat!
I am 100% positive it was my strap as one of the buckles was broken & stitching gone (i'd been using it everyday).

So i waited on the culprits to return and called the Police.

To summarise; the Police refused to search their van, and laughed at me when i brought out my Italian/English dictionary to highlight the word 'search'.

So; jump an hour... I decided to bring this game to a halt - should i give them one more chance? (of course i know they'll continue to deny it) or should i attack them?

I consider that i have pretty good negotiation skills and with all of my 'spiritual learnings', i decide attacking them will be my last course of action.

Well i can certainly look after myself (15 yrs kickboxing experience brings lots of certainty and confidence), but i'm not an attacker.
So i decide to confront them again and this time i allow THEM to call the Police.
I hoping that this time, the Police will do something, and at least search their van.

Unfortunately the same Police arrived and angrily shouted at me and physically pushed me back to my van, saying their conversation was private and they would come to me... they never did!

Instead, the Police blocked my van to allow the culprits to drive off, staying there long enough for them to escape so that i couldn't follow, and then the Police drove off themselves without a word to me!

INSURANCE?
Well it turns out that neither my campervan insurance, nor my personal travel insurance will cover the loss, and i now wish to replace my beloved camera.

URGENT Rising to a challenge - going way beyond manifesting

Well i've been online for around 15 years now and i have NEVER before sent out this kind of message... so all i ask is that you PLEASE take notice... and URGENT ACTION.

Obviously there are many fund-raising activities happening all around the world every day. However, this one came in a totally unique fashion and from a friend that i highly respect.

If I have to do my life over, I’d make more mistakes next time.

I would relax.
I would limber up.

I would be sillier than I have been this trip.

I know very few things that I would take seriously.
I would laugh more & cry less.
I would be crazier.
I would worry less about what others thought of me & I would accept myself as I am.
I would climb more mountains, swim more rivers & watch more sunsets.
I would watch less T.V. & have more picnics.
I would have only actual troubles & very few imaginary ones.
I would feel only sad not depressed.
I would be concerned not anxious.
I would be annoyed, not angry.
I would regret my mistakes not feel guilty about them.
I would tell people that I like them.
I would touch my friends.
I would forgive others for being human & I would hold no grudges.
I would play with more children & listen to more old people.
I would go after what I wanted without believing I needed it & I wouldn’t place such a great value on money.

You see,

I am one of these people who live life cautiously & sensibly & sanely, hour after hour, day after day.
Oh! I’ve had my moments, & if I had it to do over again, I’d have more of them.
In fact, I’d have nothing else.
Just moments, one after another, instead of living so many years ahead of each day.
I have been one of these people who never go anywhere with a thermometer, a hot water bottle, a gargle, a raincoat & a parachute.

If I have it to do over again, I’d go places & do things & travel lighter than I have.

I would plant seeds & make the world more beautiful.

I would express my feelings of life without fear.
If I had to do it over, I would start barefoot earlier in the Spring & stay that way later into Autumn.
I would play hooky more.
I wouldn’t make such good grades except by accident.

I would ride more merry-go-rounds.

I’d pick up more daisies …

& I’d smile!!

Something for you to meditate on... It feels like there is a conspiracy at the moment...

i’ve had an interesting experience in last 48hrs that i wanted to share with you...

i’ve been the main organiser for "Basket Brigade" for the last four years, here in Scotland.

Basket Brigade is simply "feeding needy families at this time of year" (no judgment)

As it happens, i have arranged for people to come to my house this Sunday to help pack boxes (of which currently there are NO boxes and NO goodies to pack)

i was at a meeting on Wednesday and i was on the agenda to talk about Basket Brigade (again)... and this time, i sat patiently for three hours and in the last ten mins, we went around the room to see what we had all gained from the day’s proceedings... well i let them have it (with both barrels)...

i said, i don’t often use the word "frustrated", but i have to say i am seething inside...
so far NOBODY has mentioned Basket Brigade and all i’ve had from this group is more "verbal" support.

to date, i have rec’d TWO donations, one of £40 and one of £10. (my goal had been to raise a minimum of £1000 and to feed 200+ families)

i know the Law of Attraction etc, means i should be sending out the message that i am GRATEFUL for all of the support i have rec’d, when inside i wanna SHOUT how disappointed i am that so few people have actually DONE anything!

So i sent another mailshot on Wed eve (sat up until 2.30am to make sure it happened) - i was concerned that i might not be in the best "state" to word the mailshot efficiently, but i did it anyway.

Funnily enough, the last time i got on my high-horse, the energy shifted, and it seems to have happened again...

Thanks to a great book i’ve been reading, gifted to me by one of my friends (he’s the author), Sunil Sharma entitled "From Here to Happiness", i decided that i was no longer going to be attached to the outcome, but that my conscience was clear and i was focussing on the "intention"...

i decided that Basket Brigade WOULD happen, and even if it was only me, and we only fed 6 families this year - it WOULD happen... and i was happy with that!

Well, i awoke yesterday and i made a call that i’ve been procrastinating on for no apparent reason (fear of rejection i guess). It was to a Minister that has been helping me with Basket Brigade for the last few years, by giving us addresses to anonymously deliver to (i never ask for names).. He now trusts me and knows we are simply looking to donate with no hidden agenda.

What he shared almost brought me to tears...

He said "bless you Mike for having the drive to continue doing this work".

He shared with me, that two of the families that "we" (because i always invite others to help) delivered anonymous parcels to TWO years ago, have since been creating their own food parcels to deliver to OTHER needy families at this time of year... he continued "they are not financially wealthy by any means, but they now WANT to give back to others every year, because they remember how the act touched their own lives/hearts" - how wonderful!!!

That reminded me of one of my own phrases (which i share on my website at;

And so i wrote this down (i’ve never written this before)...

"I don’t know what i’ve done to feel so blessed...
It seems like there is a conspiracy at the moment... people are going out of their way...
to send me miracles!!!

(and if ever you wanted there to be a conspiracy, isn’t that the focus/result you’d love to have??)

Maybe it’s the Law of Sowing and Reaping... I have a clear conscience that i have sowed some great seeds and now it seems to be coming back to me MASSIVELY!

Then i rec’d an email from an amazing woman who also helps me with Basket Brigade every year - if you want to learn more about OUR Basket Brigade project, see my wee webpage at;

Laura works in a large Financial Services office in Edinburgh, and she simply sends a message via her office intranet, inviting all employees to donate just one item into the boxes left in the foyer... (imagine how many more office environments could do something similar...)

Her email to me said "i hope you have plenty space, because we have TWELVE boxes for you"

***UPDATE*** - I’ve just rec’d another email from her this second saying "we now have 31 boxes"

Here is another email i rec’d this morning;
"Basket Brigade is obviously a great cause and wonderful idea. I was surprised to read on your reply email to me that there weren’t any items yet to pack nor were there addresses to deliver them to, and wondered, in my very humble opinion, if it would be an idea to have started much earlier in the year to prepare for this period, to begin to collect the items, advertise for support in the various ways, and to have had time to research the intended 200 beneficiaries. To pull it together at this 11th hour may certainly work, although it may have been easier with more time! Just a thought."

My reply included this;
"of course, we all get caught up in our own "stuff" during the year, and it’s really interesting how a "timescale" can suddenly make things happen... and it HAS happened!!!"

One thing i must acknowledge here is that i am very aware that there are many people quietly doing great things (including fundraising balls etc) - and not just at this time of year.

The more that you practice gratitude the more deeply you will feel it in your heart, and the depth of the feeling is the key. wow, where to start...

It was mum's 69th birthday two days ago. I'm SO GRATEFUL that she is still physically and mentally fit and constantly smiling!

Dad has had four strokes in the last five years and is almost entirely paralysed down one side and uses the wheelchair more than he walks. And yet, he chose to go through a driving assessment. His driving was apparently fine, but he struggled with the matching of pictures, so he must now sit a new test... nevertheless, i am STUNNED that he still has the drive (excuse the pun) to WANT to get behind the wheel again!

Then, I had NLP Master Trainer Topher Morrison staying with me for the last couple of days (there are only a dozen NLP Master Trainers in the entire world!! - i was thinking about that, and i can't think of NAY profession where there are only a dozen in the whole world... ok, so there's only one Pope, but there are more than a dozen Presidents and Prime-Ministers in the world - wow, what an accolade!)
Topher flew in to Scotland (at his own expense) to give FREE presentations. I'm pleased to say, he had a full house at each venue (even though it was free... stats show that many people don't bother turning up to free events), and the audience LOVED him so much, that I received loads of "thanks" (and i only introduced him - how cool is that!?)

Life is just getting better and better (finally... i've had PLENTY of challenges in 2007) - the one thing that did strike me, was at my dad's driving assessment, there were two other applicants waiting to be assessed, and both were around his age, both totally alone (perched at opposite sides of the room), and both had actually LOST their legs... it just made me appreciate how lucky we really are!!

Is it just me, or is there truly a "shift" in energy happening???
Whatever is happening, it feels GREAT!

I've given myself a month's notice...

I'm on a mission now...

I awoke this morning and said to myself
"what if Richard Branson was to share my life with me for 7 days, what
changes would he make? would he sit at pc checking emails and spending time on
myspace and facebook?"

So I've now given myself 3 wks to end of Nov to make MASSIVE changes...

I want to move out of Edinburgh to a foreign country by beginning of Dec...
what has to happen to make that a reality?

What about my dog, my possessions, where do I want to go? what about income?
etc...

It's all very exciting... this Branson guy seems to have a firework stuck up his backside, and I'm going along for the ride...

Short summary since 1st Nov 2005

In Nov 05, Leanne and I went to Sydney...
I was away for three weeks via HK.

With a one-year working visa, Leanne planned to stay in Oz at least until the Main Event in March (returning the day before the big event), but she couldn't stay away, and came back to surprise us all on 23rd Dec.

We also went to Magnetic Island on the Great Barrier Reef, hired a Mini Moke (I almost run over a wild Kangaroo). I was determined not to leave until i had seen a wild Koala... and i did!!

Christmas was spent surprising the family, cos they didn't expect to see Leanne back in UK.

Christmas day itself was a crap day! Leanne & I had been arguing basically every day since she returned, and this was the worst!

I was messing around (as i do), having fun. She was on bathroom scales in her mum's house. After she spotted me standing on scales behind her, I decided to stand on toilet seat, pretending that i was gonna weigh down her shoulders. Suddenly, the seat broke!!!

Leanne went ape-shit at me ! She wouldn't calm down, esp not as i was laughing!

Eventually it became serious as she went OTT. I got replacement pins & fixed the seat next day (fortunately there are two toilets), it cost me a grand total of £2.99

As a surprise xmas gift, i booked us into Happy House in Austria for New Year... Really couldn't afford any luxuries, but since i had paid them a deposit in Aug05 and hadn't been yet, and the flights by Ryanair from Stansted to Linz were only £2 each way (plus taxes etc), i went for it.

The return flights were gonna cost £400+ to return on 3rd Jan, so i thought, if we could get cheaper return flights, we could justify staying longer (equates to cost of hotel accom).

By coincidence, the cheapest return flights (£2 each) was on 9th Jan - Leanne's 27th b/day !

Last year we were in Rome on her b/day (her treat), and she'd determined to always be out of UK on her b/day, and so it came about.

So we left Happy House on 4th (I was bored with so little to do, in hindsight, i was just beginning to relax - one more day would've been ace), and headed to Vienna. From there, next day to Panhans hotel in Semmering for 3 days of ski-ing.

Never seen so much snow!! Visibility not great, but still good fun for 3days. Leanne only did two runs on last day, so i got to go and blast my quads for a few hours alone - I loved that!

Vienna has some pretty sights (50 Museums), but it was VERY cold in Jan!!

And there are still some sights that leave you realising how lucky we really are...
